Police ask for public’s help finding missing 15-year-old girl

Salt Lake City police are searching for a 15-year-old girl who is considered to be at-risk.

Paightyn Jones was last seen in downtown Salt Lake City on Friday night, wearing a white Hello Kitty T-shirt with cars on it, along with pink shorts, said SLCPD. Jones is about 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs 105 pounds, and also has a tattoo of a heart on her cheek.

Jones is in Salt Lake City for treatment, police said, and doesn’t have her medication with her.

On Sunday, SLCPD shared a photo of Jones with a man whom police said is the last known person to be seen with her. In the photo, the two are walking in a store together, and he is wearing a white shirt, jeans and black sneakers. He left in a dark pickup truck, said police, and it’s unclear whether Jones left with the man. Police said he’s not considered a suspect.

“This remains a missing persons case,” police said.

The Cheesecake Factory to open a new location in Utah County

A new restaurant is coming to Orem — one that will be familiar to Salt Lake County diners. The Cheesecake Factory has announced that it’s opening a new location at University Place mall, at 575 E. University Parkway, this fall, according to a news release. This will be the upscale casual dining establishment’s first location in Utah County.
