These workers were promised green cards following Hurricane Katrina. Instead they were issued temporary visas that bound them to a single employer.

After Hurricane Katrina in 2006, hundreds of workers from India were promised jobs in what labor organizer Saket Soni calls "one of the largest cases of forced labor in modern U.S. history."

The Cheesecake Factory to open a new location in Utah County

A new restaurant is coming to Orem — one that will be familiar to Salt Lake County diners. The Cheesecake Factory has announced that it’s opening a new location at University Place mall, at 575 E. University Parkway, this fall, according to a news release. This will be the upscale casual dining establishment’s first location in Utah County. The restaurant, which is known for its huge menu with more than 250 items and more than 30 cheesecakes, will be located next to Dillard’s and Itto Sushi, the release stated.
