A Wisconsin man is convicted of killing 6 with an SUV in a Christmas parade

Darrell Brooks in court Wednesday. Brooks pleaded not guilty by reason of mental disease this year but withdrew the plea before his trial began with no explanation.

Darrell Brooks drove his Ford Escape into the parade in Waukesha outside Milwaukee in November. The jury verdict ends a trial in which he defended himself erratically and sometimes confrontationally.

The Cheesecake Factory to open a new location in Utah County

A new restaurant is coming to Orem — one that will be familiar to Salt Lake County diners. The Cheesecake Factory has announced that it’s opening a new location at University Place mall, at 575 E. University Parkway, this fall, according to a news release. This will be the upscale casual dining establishment’s first location in Utah County. The restaurant, which is known for its huge menu with more than 250 items and more than 30 cheesecakes, will be located next to Dillard’s and Itto Sushi, the release stated.
